Hadith in Arabic

حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ الرَّمْلِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ شَابُورَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي الطَّوِيلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ حَرَسُ لَيْلَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صِيَامِ رَجُلٍ وَقِيَامِهِ فِي أَهْلِهِ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏السَّنَةُ ثَلاثُ مِائَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ يَوْمًا وَالْيَوْمُ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ .

Hadith in Urdu

میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہو ے سنا: اللہ کی راہ میں ایک رات پہرہ دینا، کسی آدمی کے اپنے گھر میں رہ کر ایک ہزار سال کے صوم و صلاۃ سے بڑھ کر ہے، سال تین سو ساٹھ دن کا ہوتا ہے، جس کا ہر دن ہزار سال کے برابر ہے ۔

Hadith in English

It was narrated that Sa’eed bin Khalid bin Abu Tuwail said: I heard Anas bin Malik saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Standing guard one night in the cause of Allah is better than a man fasting and praying, among his family, for a thousand years. The year is three hundred and sixty days and a day is like a thousand years.” .
